The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is one of Nepal’s most rewarding Himalayan journeys, combining the scenic Langtang Valley with the sacred alpine lakes of Gosaikunda. Langtang Valley Highlights -  

The Langtang Valley, often called the “Valley of Glaciers,” is known for its dramatic landscapes and close-up mountain views. Trekkers pass through dense forests of rhododendron and bamboo, cross suspension bridges, and stay in traditional Tamang villages like Mundu and Langtang.

A major highlight is Kyanjin Gompa (3,870 m), where trekkers explore ancient monasteries, local cheese factories, and optional viewpoints like Kyanjin Ri (4773 m) and Tserko Ri.

Gosaikunda Lake – Spiritual Heart of the Trek - 

Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m) is a sacred alpine lake believed to have been created by Lord Shiva. Surrounded by rugged peaks and multiple smaller lakes, this area is a major pilgrimage site, especially during Janai Purnima.

The crossing of Lauribina La Pass (4,610 m) is the highest and most challenging part of the trek, offering panoramic Himalayan views and a strong sense of achievement.

Kathmandu → Syabrubesi → Bamboo
Start early morning drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (7–8 hours), following scenic mountain roads along the Trishuli River. The journey offers views of terraced fields, hill villages, and deep river valleys before reaching Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang Valley. From Syabrubesi, begin trekking towards Bamboo (2-3 hours). The trail follows the Langtang Khola, crossing suspension bridges and ascending gradually through dense bamboo and oak forests. This section is ideal for easing into the trek with moderate climbs and shaded forest paths. Arrive at Bamboo (1,970 m) by evening. Rest and acclimatize at a tea house surrounded by forested slopes.

Bamboo → Riverside
Altitude: 1,970 m → ~2,400 m
After breakfast, trek from Bamboo to Riverside (5–6 hours), gradually ascending through dense bamboo, oak, and rhododendron forests. The trail follows the Langtang Khola, with several suspension bridge crossings and occasional steep sections. Walk through beautiful settlements of Rimche and Lama Hotel. This section remains mostly shaded and peaceful, offering chances to spot wildlife and enjoy the sound of flowing river water. The steady climb helps with natural acclimatization as you move deeper into Langtang Valley. Overnight stay at Gumnachok / Riverside .

Riverside → Mundu
Altitude: ~2,400 m → ~3,540 m
Trek from Riverside to Mundu (5–6 hours), gradually climbing through forested trails and open valleys. Trek through the beautifull valleys of Pering Kharka, Ghoda Tabela then finally enter the core region of Langtang Valley. The landscape opens up with clear views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks. Pass through traditional Tamang settlements and prayer wheels before reaching Mundu. Overnight stay in Mundu.

Mundu → Kyanjin Gompa
Altitude: ~3,540 m → 3,870 m

A short and scenic trek from Mundu to Kyanjin Gompa (3–4 hours). Walk across yak pastures and glacial streams with dramatic mountain views. Reach the spiritual and cultural heart of Langtang Valley.Visit the ancient monastery and local cheese factory.

Kyanjin Gompa → Kyanjin Ri → Lama Hotel
Altitude: 3,870 m → 4,770 m → 2,480 m

Today is a important day to get the best view and unmatching experience. We will be starting early morning hike to Kyanjin Ri (4–5 hours round trip) for panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Yala Peak, Dorje Lakpa glaciers, and surrounding peaks. The hike to Kyanjin Ri is challenging yet rewarding. After descending, have lunch then trek down through the Langtang Valley to Lama Hotel.

A long but rewarding day following the climb high, sleep low principle. Overnight stay in Lama Hotel.

Lama Hotel → Thulo Syabru

Altitude: 2,480 m → 2,210 m

From Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (6–7 hours), the trail diverts towards the Gosaikunda route. A steep ascent through dense forests leads to ridge sections with views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang ranges. 

Thulo Syabru → Sing Gompa

Altitude: 2,210 m → 3,330 m
A steady climb from Thulo Syabru to Sing Gompa (5–6 hours) through rhododendron and oak forests. Visit the Sing Gompa Monastery and cheese factory, surrounded by peaceful alpine scenery.

Sing Gompa → Gosaikunda

Altitude: 3,330 m → 4,380 m

Today’s trek leads you to the sacred Gosaikunda Lake, one of the highlights of the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. The trail begins with a gradual ascent through colorful rhododendron forests, offering intermittent views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.

After 1–2 hours of hiking, reach Cholangpati. The trail then climbs towards Lauribina Top, rewarding you with panoramic views of Ganesh Himal. Continuing across alpine meadows and a high ridge, you get the first glimpse of the shimmering turquoise Gosaikunda lakes.

The final stretch takes you to Gosaikunda village, where the rest of the day is reserved for rest, acclimatization, and soaking in the spiritual calm of this high-altitude lake.

Gosaikunda - Chandanbari

Altitude: 4,380 m → 3,330 m

After breakfast, explore the sacred Gosaikunda Lake, one of the most revered alpine lakes in Nepal. A short uphill walk from the village leads you to the lake, set against a stunning backdrop of snow-clad peaks and open blue skies.Spend time soaking in the serene atmosphere, capturing photographs, and enjoying the high-altitude Himalayan views. After descending back to the village for lunch, begin your trek towards Chandanbari.The trail descends steeply to Lauribina, passing waterfalls and alpine streams before easing into a gradual walk to Chandanbari. Known for its local dairy, Chandanbari offers a perfect resting spot with views of the surrounding Himalayas.

Chandabari - Dhunche - Kathmandu
Today is the last day of the trek, get up early morning then after breakfast descend to Dhunche, from Dhunche we will drive back to Kathmandu. Expect to reach Kathmandu at evening. Post Trek Celebration. Our journey and service ends here with sweet Himalayan Memories of Nepal both adventurous and rewarding.

Booking Policy:

To book your trek, you need to pay 30% of the trek fees as advance. Rest 70% to be paid ten days prior to the starting date.

One can pay the amount online(Net Banking, GPay, UPI ID). 

Details to be shared on request.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 30 days before the trek date, full refund of the paid amount

  • 15 days before the trek date, 50% refund of the paid amount.

  • Cancellation less than 15days to the start date of the trek, no refund possible

  • In case Himalayan Passion cancels the trek or trip, full refund will be paid.

  • One has option to send another person on their behalf.

  • One has option to adjust the paid amount on any other trek, if a person cannot join the trek he/she paid for.
