About Sandakphu Phalut Trek

Sandakphu Phalut is not just a trekking trail, but a trail of dreams, which comes true when you place your footsteps in the beautiful Villages of Darjeeling and Nepal. The inter-connected trails between India and Nepal take the traveler through the beautifully decorated Villages of Hills, beautiful Buddhist prayer flags, Monasteries, a nostalgic era of the trekkers. The only trek in the Himalayas where the trekkers can get the amazing view of the four of the Highest Peaks of the Himalayas, Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, and the amazing gigantic view of KhanchenDzonga leaves the traveler spellbound. The Trail runs through India and Nepal in such a way that one will eat their meals in Nepal and will sleep in India. The trail between Sandakphu to Phalut which is approximately 21kms, but a bit challenging for its lengthy distance to be covered in a single day, but one of the most beautiful day of the entire trek, for the Khanchendzonga with Sleeping Buddha ranges and the Everest family, will follow throughout. Phalut, is like a junction and meeting point of three regions i.e. Darjeeling,Sikkim and Nepal. Phalut, one of the most serene place which everyone can feel when one reaches there, is an isolated mountain top, with amazing 360 degree view of the highest peaks. One could never forget the Phalut, for its own uniqueness and the peace and serenity one could feel over here.  The trail of Sandakphu is one of those special trails which can take a special place is everyone's heart, specially the amazing villages, like Dhotrey, Gurdum, Maneybhanjyang, Tumling, Kalipokhri, Jaubhari, Gairibas, and Sandakphu, Aahl, Thokum, Sabargram, Molley and finally to Phalut and mesmerizing Gorkhey and Samanden . The path runs through rhododendron forests, meadows, and one could spot, deer, red panda. The amazing sunrise and sunset on every spots leaves the traveler spellbounded and amused. The fogs rises like a curtain and embraces the human soul, the clouds flow beneath the foot, and the Gigantic Sleeping Buddha blesses the travelers soul.

Arrival at NJP station, pick up from NJP station, and transfer to Maneybhanjang/Dhotrey/Gurdum. Briefing and registration to be completed , spend the evening leisure time exploring the base camp villages. Overnight stay at Homestay.

After morning breakfast Trek will start from Maneybhanjang/Dhotrey/Gurdum via Meghma, LameyDhura to Tumling/Tonglu (12kms). Overnight stay at homestay.

After morning breakfast,trek to Kalipokhri(13kms)via Jaubhari, Gairibas, lunch at Kaiyakata. Overnight stay at Homestay. Explore the beautiful serene black lake Kalipokhri, considered as a very holy lake.

After morning breakfast, trek to Sandakphu (6Kms) via Bikeybhanjyang, the entire trail is uphill today. After reaching Sandakphu enjoy the hot lunch and explore the Sandakphu, with amazing sunset over the highest peaks of the world. Overnight stay at homestay.

Get up early morning to witness the spell bounding sunrise over Sleeping Buddha and Everest, Makalu, Lhotse, Nuptse,Chamlang and Chomolanzo. Today is an important day, so we will complete the breakfast as early as possible, and start movement to Phalut(21kms), via Aahl, Thokum, Sabargram, Molley.  Through the beautiful ridge, meadows, forest and mostly through the mountain tops and ridges of the Singalila region, one could view rhododendron forest through. Overnight stay at Hut.

After breakfast, Descending trek to Gorkhey (16kms). This trail brings back the beautiful rhododendron forest and the beautiful greeneries throughout, the entire trail is amazing for its surreal beauty. On reaching Gorkhey, enjoy the amazingly mesmerizing beauty of the village, and river Gorkhey Khola flowing through. One could also visit Samanden, which is just 1km from Gorkhey, another hidden paradise on this trail. Overnight stay at Homestay.

After early morning breakfast, short trek to Bhareng (3kms), then drive to NJP. We will leave you in NJP Railway Station/Siliguri Railway station/Tenzing Norgay Bus terminus. Leave only footprints, take back sweet Himalayan Memories.

Booking Policy:

To book your trek, you need to pay 30% of the trek fees as advance. Rest 70% to be paid in cash when you reach the basecamp, to be collected by the team leader.

One can pay the amount online(Net Banking, GPay, UPI ID). 

Details to be shared on request.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 30 days before the trek date, full refund of the paid amount

  • 15 days before the trek date, 50% refund of the paid amount.

  • Cancellation less than 15days to the start date of the trek, no refund possible

  • In case Himalayan Passion cancels the trek or trip, full refund will be paid.

  • One has option to send another person on their behalf.

  • One has option to adjust the paid amount on any other trek, if a person cannot join the trek he/she paid for.
